The Crete Legion Juniors baseball team exploded for 59 runs Friday and Sunday in doubleheader sweeps on the road against teams from Hickman and Nebraska City, improving to 6-1 on the young season.
Several area high school graduates will be playing in the Southeast Nebraska All-Star volleyball and basketball contests on June 15 and 16 in Beatrice.
The Crete Legion baseball season got under way last week with the Crete Juniors posting a 2-1 record, falling to Gretna 12-0 Wednesday before topping Seward B 11-3 and Seward A 2-1 Thursday.
